A renowned Kitchenwear brand is looking for a talented Packaging Designer to join their New Product Development team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Packaging this is a major role in the team. They are looking for someone highly motivated and hands-on with the ability to see a brief through from initial concept to final print-ready artwork and eager to push the brand forward with industry-leading design.

Working to two seasonal launches a year, we are looking for someone highly-organised who is able to work well under pressure. You’ll be managing multiple projects at once and deliver outstanding results, on budget.

Requirements

  • Creative Design: The Packaging Designer is responsible for creating industry-leading packaging designs that enhance the brand's profile, engage consumers, and effectively communicate the product's unique selling points.

  • Concept Development: The designer will create highly finished concepts and 3D card mock-ups of packaging for internal review, helping to visualize and refine packaging ideas before final production.

  • Art Direction: The designer will also participate in photo shoots for packaging imagery, providing art direction and conducting high-quality retouching of images as needed.

  • Artwork Production: The Packaging Designer will produce press-ready artwork, adhering to in-house guidelines and incorporating all necessary language translations and legal requirements.

  • Additional Design Responsibilities: The role may extend beyond packaging design to include the design and artwork of sales presenters, seasonal product catalogues, exhibition graphics, in-store merchandisers, and promotional materials.

  • Research and Innovation: Staying updated on the latest innovations and changes in print and packaging design is crucial. This includes proposing new ideas, improving practices, and exploring new materials and print techniques.

To be successful in this role, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) is essential. Additionally, experience with 3D drawing/rendering software, such as KeyShot or SolidWorks, and competency in Microsoft Office software is beneficial.

A degree in Graphic Design or a similar creative discipline is preferred, while experience in structural design for product packaging is advantageous.

The Packaging Designer should have excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a track record of delivering high-quality results under pressure.

Strong conceptual and executional abilities, coupled with exceptional communication skills, are also key.

Having experience in creating effective cutter guides for cardboard packaging and designing structural packaging for consumer products is an added advantage.
